Take advantage of job seeking guidance from our Career Counselors! While the Career Center is located in the Maple Hts. Branch, counselors often travel to our other library branches.
Our Career Counselors administer career assessment tests to help you discover the jobs that suit you and your needs. Counselors will evaluate and assist with career planning. Our Career Counselors conduct workshops that cover a diverse range of topics, and oversee Job Clubs that meet at our library branches.

Our Career Counselors are experts on creating cover letters to get you noticed and resumes that are more likely to pass you through to the interview stage. They'll help find and explain samples of each through our many books and online resources; learn how to use resume templates.
You will learn to take advantage of the online Resume Builder, FREE to libary card holders, where you can create and save Cover Letters and Resumes. Our Career Counselors will show you how to tailor each to impress recruiters for specific jobs.
Our Career Counselors will help you prepare for every type of interview, including telephone screenings, panel interviews, and behavior-based interviews.
Resources at our Career Center include guides to scoring high at the interview, sample interview questions, and questions you can ask to impress.

Putting the people of Cuyahoga County back to work is one of six priorities of the Library. Our Career Center maintains a comprehensive career library specializing in specific careers, and our librarians and Career Counselors will help you find what you need. While the Career Center does focus our Library's resources and staff on-site, all of our branches are dedicated to helping job hunters, free of charge, and can access these services and resources.

Career Counselor Jim Hansen facilitates the Maple Heights Job Club every Thursday morning 9:30-11:00 AM in the Maple Heights Branch. It is open to all adults who are job-hunting or who are looking to change careers.
Jim also heads up the Fairview Park Job Club every Thursday afternoon from 1:30-3:00 PM at the Fairview Park Branch. All job hunters and career changers are welcome.
Job Clubs also meet at our North Olmsted and Beachwood branches. Job seekers can find support and networking opportunities through these groups.
All workshops are FREE and many offer hands-on training but they do require registration since seating is limited.
These FREE workshops cover a step-by-step process to help you land that ideal job. Other Career Center Programs can include Interviewing Workshops, Online Applications, Creating Resume/Cover Letters, and Basic Computer Skills. See our Online Workshop Schedule.

Our Library also offers Technology Training, from beginner to advanced classes on computer software programs and the Internet at select branches throughout our system.
